After launching a search for the position of dean of the Graduate School of Education in December, 2012, a well-qualified and diverse pool of candidates emerged from an extensive recruitment effort. These candidates represent an interesting array of experience in academic, professional, and leadership roles in a wide range of disciplines.
During the month of April, the search committee completed its file review, conducted confidential off-site interviews with the strongest candidates, and has now recommended an outstanding slate of candidates to participate in on-campus visits as finalists.
On-campus visits will begin on May 6, and will include meetings with UB’s faculty, senior academic and administrative leadership, staff, students, alumni and volunteers. Each of the campus visits will include a public forum at which the candidates will provide introductory remarks and then engage in dialogue with those attending. The search committee strongly encourages all members of the campus community to participate in these open sessions and to offer input to the search committee following the candidate visits.
On-campus candidate visits are currently scheduled for Monday, May 6; Thursday, May 9; Monday, May 13; and Tuesday, May 14. Candidate information and details on the public forums are available here.
Following each campus visit, the search committee invites input from the campus community. Please direct any feedback or questions to the committee at GSEDeanSearch@buffalo.edu by Wednesday, May 15. Thank you for your interest and participation in the search for UB’s next dean of the Graduate School of Education.
