Mr. Zielinski has been a leader in the field of healthcare in Western New York for more than two decades, most recently having served as president of the HCR Homecare, one the nation’s most successful and highly ranked providers of in-home skilled clinical and assistive services. Mr. Zielinkski’s healthcare expertise spans the entire healthcare delivery system, including acute, ancillary, and post-acute care in both adult and pediatric settings. He has extensive experience working with physicians on collaborative strategies to build their practices, both in private and academic settings. Prior to his appointment at HCR, he served as president of Buffalo General Hospital, the flagship center of the Kaleida Health System; president of the Visiting Nurses Association of Western New York, which he developed into the leading home health provider in the Western New York marketplace; vice president of ancillary and support services for Children’s Hospital of Buffalo; and president of Children’s Hospital Home Care. He was also the president of Family Pharmaceutical Services, and built that company into a thriving niche retail business operating inside acute care hospitals. Preceding his career in health care, Mr. Zielinski worked for Goldome Bank—an $11 billion regional institution serving New York and Florida—as senior vice president of retail services, vice president for strategic information systems, and divisional vice president.
Mr. Zielinski earned an MBA in Finance and a BA in Sociology from the University at Buffalo; he is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Program for Management Development. He presently serves as a trustee of the UB Foundation, where he sits on the finance committee. His additional service to the university includes a term as the president of the UB Alumni Association, president of the UB School of Management Alumni Association, and his ongoing involvement as an adjunct faculty member in the School of Management, teaching in the area of healthcare management and innovation.
