The University at Buffalo (UB) is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking leader for the position of Vice President and Chief Information Officer (VPCIO). Reporting to the president in a cabinet-level appointment, the VPCIO will establish and implement a clear vision for positioning UB at the forefront of 21 century information technology and computing in higher education.

The VPCIO is the university’s principal technology leader responsible for academic, research, administrative, security, and infra-structure technology resources and services. The VPCIO optimizes and focuses these resources to achieve the university vision and the direct needs of faculty, staff, and students as they fulfill their role in the university community. The VPCIO brings the transformative power of technology to the table and further inspires university conversations about what is possible when planning for the future.
