University at Buffalo

Dean of the Law School
Search Update

December 4, 2007

Dear UB friends and colleagues,

Last week, the Law School Dean Search Committee completed interviews with a strong and diverse pool of candidates, and is now in the process of scheduling on-campus interviews for finalists during the month of December. The names and biographies of finalists, and the dates of their visits will become available on the search website as the dates of the visits are confirmed. The first of these candidates is scheduled to visit UB on Friday, December 7, and his CV is available on the search web site now under the “Candidates” link in the left navigation bar.

The on-campus visits will include meetings with law faculty, senior staff, and students; alumni and other leaders of the legal community; and with senior university leaders. There will also be open sessions with each candidate, at which all interested individuals are welcome and encouraged to attend. The open session for the first candidate is scheduled for Friday, December 7 from 3:10 – 3:40 p.m. in 509 O’Brian Hall on the North Campus.

All members of the university community are encouraged to give the committee detailed and confidential feedback about candidates by e-mail at law-dean@vpsa.buffalo.edu. The search committee greatly appreciates the participation of the entire university community in making these visits a success.

Sincerely,

Guyora Binder
UB Distinguished Professor of Law
