When will the store shelves be fully stocked again?

Nallan Suresh, UB Distinguished Professor of operations management and strategy in the School of Management and associate director of the Stephen Still Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics, was interviewed on WBEN Radio about how the grocery supply chain continues to struggle to keep up with demand amid the coronavirus outbreak.

“It’s obvious the lessons learned from previous hurricane-like events have not been adequate,” Suresh said. “The industry clearly has been surprised by the unexpected demand surge, even though it had a three or four week lead time to prepare.”
