Industrial and Systems Engineering Davis Hall, North Campus I came to UB to learn how to run my own business, so at first I enrolled as an economics major. I ended up switching majors my freshman year to industrial and systems engineering. | more
Social Entrepreneurship Alumni Arena, North Campus I love Blake Mycosksie’s story, his business model of creating his TOMS shoe company. He sells shoes for a profit and then gives a part of that money to donate new shoes to people who need them. | more
Mentoring Programs Student Union, North Campus By taking leadership workshops and participating in UB’s Real Experience and Leadership Mentoring (REALM) program, I earned UB’s Torch Leadership Certificate and feel more confident. | more
Learn by traveling Minsk, Belarus For the last 18 years I’ve been taking groups of students abroad to present a creative project they’ve worked on here at UB. Recently, I’ve taken them to Minsk, in Belarus, and Montreal, in Canada. | more
From Brazil to UB Capen Hall, North Campus I participate in the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program (BSMP). The BSMP was a chance to grow academically, strengthen some weaknesses, improve my English and have more contact with other places and cultures. | more
Undergraduate research COE, Downtown Campus There are researchers who were studying in Italy and came to Buffalo to conduct further research. I'm working with them now. I can't believe at this point in my education I'm working with people like this. | more
Architecture Crosby Hall, South Campus I chose UB’s architecture school because I was attracted to its studio dimension, the work ethic, and professors I talked to. Compared to other schools, what I liked the most is the relationship between students and professors. | more
Internships abroad Rabat, Morocco I want to take my UB degree and do a master’s, perhaps in environmental sustainability. I got to visit Morocco and Brazil for summer internships to see how their infrastructure works. | more

English Language Institute Baldy Hall, North Campus Chat Room is a unique opportunity for UB students. You are paired up with one American student each week to freely discuss any topics. Through this, my speaking skills greatly improved. | more
Keeping University Affordable Furnas Hall, North Campus I was able to attend UB because of scholarships and campus jobs. As an undergraduate I got an international merit scholarship and won a scholarship to conduct engineering research on nanomaterials. | more
University Honors College Capen Hall, North Campus As an undergraduate, I was part of an advanced honors program as part of the UB Honors College. Through the program, your professors really take notice of you, and they gave me offers to do research with them. | more
Strategic Management Alfiero Center, North Campus My favorite professor in the School of Management is Yong Li, who teaches Strategic Management (MGO 403). I learned so much from him about how companies gain and sustain a competitive advantage. | more
