A chance to grow

I participate in the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program (BSMP). The BSMP opportunity came at the right moment. It was a chance to grow academically, strengthen some weaknesses in my education, improve my English and have more contact with other places and cultures.

The BSMP program gives 100,000 scholarships in science, technology, engineering and mathematics — or STEM — to Brazil's best undergraduate and PhD students, helping them afford to study abroad and increase knowledge in Brazil.

I chose to participate in the BSMP because I have been looking for an opportunity to study abroad. I applied to the program and was given the chance to study at UB. I've been here since June of 2012. I came first to attend the English Language Institute (ELI).

After graduation, I intend to pursue either a master's or a PhD program in order to become a researcher.
