To apply to the University at Buffalo as a transfer student, please collect, prepare and scan the following materials. You will need to save them on your computer and then upload them during the application process.
We need an electronic copy of your transcripts from every college and university that you have ever attended.
If you have a student copy of your transcript, you can scan it and upload it to our online Document Submission System.
If you cannot obtain and scan a paper copy, try accessing your grades through your school’s website. Then take a screenshot of your grades (make sure it includes your name) and save it to your computer.
We will also need copies of your test scores and any other required documents. You will scan and save these to your computer.
You will submit all of your required application documents to us through our online Document Submission System (DSS).
How do you access the Document Submission System? When you applied to UB, we sent you an email with your UB Person Number and the link to the Document Submission System; please check your emails from UB (account "firstname.lastname@example.org") or check your "Junk" or "Spam" folders.
Any document written in a foreign language must include an English translation.
Students who have earned 24 college credits or fewer must provide secondary school grades in addition to all of the materials listed on this page.
You can fulfill the English proficiency requirements by submitting a passing test score or by qualifying for one of our exceptions.
Accepted Test Scores
Standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) are NOT required for transfer admission.
Some majors require prerequisite coursework or other criteria beyond what is required for university admission.
You should check your specific program requirements for more details.
When you apply to the University at Buffalo, you must be honest at all times. Be sure that all documents and information that you submit with your application are correct and accurate. You are responsible for everything that is submitted with your application, even if someone else helps you to complete it.
Withholding or omitting information and documents or giving false information may make you ineligible for admission, subject to dismissal and/or be ineligible for transfer credit.
