SUNY Downstate Medical welcomes all to the American College of Academic International Medicine (ACAIM) 3rd Annual Congress!

ACAIM is an energetic, young, and unique organization dedicated to advancing the U.S. contribution to the field of Academic International Medicine (AIM). Their mission:

  • To promote the mission of Academic International Medicine (AIM) professionals in the United States and beyond
  • To promote clinical, educational and scientific collaboration of AIM professionals, both domestically and globally
  • To create a platform for domestic and global coordination of academic, clinical and educational efforts involving AIM professionals
  • To educate, generate and publish new knowledge, create relevant guidelines, and assist policymaking in the area of international medicine
  • To standardize processes and objective measurements of academic and clinical productivity associated with the participation of U.S. AIM professionals in international endeavors

The American College of Academic International Medicine (ACAIM) will be holding their 3rd Annual Congress, themed “’ Translating Evidence into Global Innovation’ -- Emphasizing the role of academic, evidence-based research and practice in global health applications,” from July 27-29, 2018 at SUNY Downstate Medical. The topics to be addressed during the conference will include:

  • Vulnerable populations
  • Women’s health
  • Disparities in Global health
  • Health Literacy
  • Technology in Global Health
  • Injury Prevention
  • Emergency Management
  • Global Health Security

There will be a pre-conference day which will host a Cochrane Screening and Diagnostic Test Methods Workshop, designed for researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders who have a keen interest in understanding key issues in the design and conduct of systematic reviews of diagnostic test accuracy.  Those completing this workshop will be eligible to become Cochrane reviewers.

Visit acaim.org to register and consider submitting an abstract!  All accepted abstracts will be published in the International Journal of Academic Medicine (IJAM). Abstracts are due April 15, 2018.
