Part of UB’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of our communities, here in Buffalo and throughout the world. Wednesday’s Inauguration Week events highlighted this role with the grand opening of UB’s Behling Simulation Center, a state-of-the-art health care training facility on the South Campus, and with a public forum of the Buffalo Food Policy Summit, a two-day symposium discussing our local food system.
The newly renovated, 10,000 square-foot Behling Simulation
Center officially opened its doors with a grand opening ceremony
and tours. Located in Farber Hall on the South Campus,
this center of excellence is the first in the country
originally designed to bring students in various health sciences

A forum held off campus Tuesday evening was the first of
two public events for the summit, funded by the Community
Foundation for Greater Buffalo with additional support from
UB’s Civic Engagement and Public Policy Research Initiative.

Through the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation, Buffalo Bills owner
Ralph Wilson Jr. and his wife, Mary Wilson, have given $1
million to honor the Bills team physicians in the UB Department of
Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
