Each day of inauguration week had a different theme to convey
the many facets of UB’s commitment to academic excellence and
the well-being of local and global communities.
Every day, our faculty, staff and students take UB’s mission of excellence to greater heights. UB explored the impact of their contributions at campus-wide discussions and celebrations of their research, educational and creative pursuits.
As a leading public research university, UB’s mission is to positively impact our local, national and global communities. Whether down the street or halfway around the world, we partner with our neighbors to promote healthy living and social well-being.
UB’s multifaceted engagement in the community is highlighted in the Distinguished Speakers Series, cultural performances for the public and employee generosity in the annual Campaign for the Community.
UB celebrates its rich international identity as demonstrated in institutional partnerships overseas, study abroad, research with a global reach and one of the most internationally diverse student bodies in the nation.
The formal investiture of Satish K. Tripathi as UB’s 15th president gathered the members of the extended university community around the world to celebrate a new chapter in UB’s distinguished 165-year history.
Homecoming—a time to celebrate UB pride and reconnect with friends, family and alumni—capped the week of inaugural celebration. Highlights included pre-game tailgating, the much-anticipated football match-up with Big East rival Connecticut and more.
