The Initiative for Maximizing Student Development,
Enabling Access to Cutting-Edge Biomedical and Behavioral
Science, began at the University at Buffalo in 2012 with
support from the NIH. The mission of the IMSD@UB is to prepare
students for successful careers in science and promote intellectual
and cultural diversity in the biomedical and behavioral sciences at
the University at Buffalo. The program is designed to maximize PhD
student potential by providing mentoring, financial support,
academic enrichment, and professional development.
The IMSD@UB is funded by a grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the National Institutes of Health.
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences is a part of the National Institutes of Health that supports research to increase understanding of life processes and lay the foundation for advances in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
