Buffalo, NY- The University at Buffalo Center for the Arts presents ALTON BROWN LIVE: EAT YOUR SCIENCE on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $59 and $49.

Television personality, author and Food Network star Alton Brown created a new form of entertainment – the live culinary variety show – with his “Edible Inevitable Tour,” which played over 100 cities to more than 150,000 fans (including a sold-out performance at the Center for the Arts in November 2014).

Brown says fans can expect “all-new everything including songs, new comedy, new puppets, and bigger and better potentially dangerous food demonstrations.” Critics and fans have raved about the interactive components of Brown’s shows. In his two-hour performance, he promises “plenty of new therapy inducing opportunities during our audience participation segments. I don’t want to give too much away, but this time we’re going to play a little game.” Brown has a knack for mixing together science, music and food into two hours of pure entertainment. “Plus, you’ll see things I’ve never been allowed to do on TV.”

Connected with the live tour, Alton Brown launched his #ABRoadEats initiative to discover culinary treasures and connect with his millions of followers while he tours the country. He is calling on his followers for gustatory guidance in each of the 28 cities he will visit this fall. Fans in Buffalo can submit recommendations for coffee and breakfast to late night munchies and everything in-between on his website, Facebook and Twitter using #ABRoadEatsBuffalo.

“Everyone loves telling out-of-towners where to eat. Typically we choose one coffee joint, one breakfast (or doughnut) stop and a lunch stop,” says Brown. “Then after the show, we’ll hit a late night place.” Dinners are usually reserved for cities where the tour has a day off.

Brown tabulates the votes each day and makes his picks from the submissions. “I do not eat a single bite of food that doesn't come from the hashtag.” After his visit, Alton posts photos or videos and write-ups on his social media platforms. On his 2014 trip to Buffalo, Brown visited Anchor Bar, Paula’s Donuts, Schwabl’s and Ted’s Hot Dogs.

Although Alton Brown is best known as the creator, writer and host of Good Eats, which ran for 14 years on Food Network. The show is anticipated to return to the Food Network in the future. He has also hosted Cutthroat Kitchen and served as the culinary commentator on Iron Chef America. He has written eight books on food and cooking (including his latest, EveryDayCook).
