Cost and Financial Aid

To calculate the total cost of your program, visit the University at Buffalo Tuition Page and follow the instructions below:

  • Select the semester you want to calculate
    • If you are a full-time student, scroll down to the section labeled “Full-Time (12 credit hours or more) “
      • Find the division labeled “Graduate”
      • Look for “Resident-Total Cost” and “Non Resident-Total Cost”
      • Determine the semester cost based on your state of residence
  • If you are a part-time student, scroll down to the section labeled “Part-Time (less than 12 credit hours): Per Credit Hour
    • Find the division labeled “Graduate”
      • Look for “Resident-Total Cost” and “Non Resident-Total Cost”
      • To determine cost by semester, multiply the number of credit hours you will register for by the “Total Cost” amount in the table (based on your state residence).
      • To determine the total cost of your program, multiply the number of total credit hours in your program by the “Total Cost” amount in the table (based on your state residence).

To be sure that you are accounting for total cost, it is important that you calculate tuition, fees, books, and the cost of your computer into the expenses of this program.

Financial Aid: 
Please note that financial aid for part-time students is limited. Sources of support and student loans may be available through the University at Buffalo Office of Financial Aid.  For more information visit the website or call 716-645-8232

Fee Waivers

Please note that you will initially be charged all tuition and fees.  However, as an online student approximately half of your comprehensive fee will be waived and possibly your entire student activity fee. Contact your respective departments to confirm the current procedure for obtaining the fee waivers. If the fees are not waived prior to your bill’s due date, please be sure to pay your bill on time and in full to avoid late charges.
