What mentoring means to me:

One of the best mentoring experiences I have had at UB was through my participation in the Gender Institute. Having the opportunity to work alongside women who knew the structure of the institution taught me how to negotiate better, how to overcome the obstacles we encounter in our careers, and offered valuable support regarding personal and professional issues.

Topics I am willing to discuss with students:

Academic Culture

  • Dealing with politics and conflict with faculty or peers.
  • Decoding and demystifying academic culture and norms.

Personal Experiences

  • Experiences related to being a woman.
  • Experiences related to sexual and/or gender minority status.
