Thanks to donors like you, he is ready to do good things.
Hieu Nguyen is starting his career in the National Health Service Corps. As a Rosenthal Scholar, he discussed his plan with Murray Rosenthal (DDS ’63), who started his career in public dentistry after a tour as an Army dentist in Vietnam in the 1960s.
Hieu came to UB eight years ago after his parents emigrated from Vietnam to Buffalo to give him a better chance for higher education. He lived up to the challenge as an undergraduate and then in dental school, where he won two scholarships and friends everywhere he turned. During the summer after his third year, Hieu went back to Vietnam on a dental mission, which gave him a chance to see extended family—and hundreds of patients.
