Function

One of four matching buildings surrounding Kimball Tower that began UB's history as a residential college, Michael Hall now houses the Student Health Center. It has also reclaimed it original function, with the third and fourth floor becoming dorm facilities for incoming freshmen.

Namesake

Edward Michael (1850 - 1951) was a member of the university council for 50 years and chairman of the buildings and grounds committee for the university for 30 years.  He is credited with originating the idea to purchase the Main Street property for the university.
