Namesake

The NYS Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences (CoE) is a partner in a unique collaboration of three of Western New York’s most prominent research institutions:  The University at Buffalo (UB) is the lead academic organization, and Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) and Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute (HWI) are research partners.  The mission of the CoE is to study the mechanistic processes involved in human disease with the goal of developing diagnostic tools and therapeutic interventions, preventive treatment, and other disease management devices and processes to alleviate the suffering of humankind.  In fulfillment of its primary mission, the New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics & Life Sciences acts as a facilitator of economic development via Government/Academia/Industry partnerships.
