Energy Conservation Projects

The University continues to team up with the New York Power Authority to implement comprehensive energy conservation projects at North, South and Downtown campuses.  PRES Energy, a local engineering firm will be lead project manager.  PRES Energy will be responsible for supervising the project design, construction and commissioning.

NYPA Phase III - Nearing Completion:

  • Extensive North Campus exterior lighting upgrades
  • Extensive North Campus interior lighting upgrades
  • Additional building power metering upgrades
  • Heating and cooling upgrades at Ellicott complex
  • Upgrade of heating and cooling systems at Capen
  • Expansion of chilled water cooling loop at South Campus

NYPA Phase IV - Planning Start of Construction:

  • Upgrade of Crofts Hall lighting, heating and cooling systems
  • Upgrade of chilled water system at North campus
  • Upgrade central chiller plant pumps
  • Millard Fillmore Academic Center heating and cooling system upgrades
  • Hot water heater improvements at North campus
  • Heating system upgrades at Alumni Arena and Center for the Arts
