Facilities Sustainability and Energy Management

Our mission is to meet the energy needs of the UB community - faculty, staff and students, so ultimately UB’s mission of academic excellence may be pursued.

As stewards of the university’s utility resources, Utilities Management is committed to purchasing energy with the highest standards of integrity and accountability. Cost-effectiveness balanced with energy conservation and the procurement of clean renewable energy enables us to succeed in our mission.
The University continues to team up with the New York Power Authority to implement comprehensive energy conservation projects at North, South and Downtown campuses.  PRES Energy, a local engineering firm will be lead project manager.  PRES Energy will be responsible for supervising the project design, construction and commissioning.
