UB can provide information and assistance in matters including tenure and promotion, workplace issues and accommodations.

  • Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs - the Vice Provost advises and assists the Provost on the following topics: faculty promotion and tenure review process, faculty policies, faculty retention services, under-represented faculty recruitment, faculty development (Teaching and Learning Center), special faculty hiring initiatives, and faculty awards and recognition programs.
  • Office of Employee Relations - (716) 645-7777 for issues relating to Workplace Violence, Domestic Violence and the Workplace, and employee conduct matters.
  • Student Conduct and Advocacy – provides information regarding student classroom conduct issues and other matters involving student discipline.
  • Employee Assistance Program - Free & voluntary information, assessments, problem-solving, and resources on any concern that impacts you, on or off the job.  Also provides supervisory consultations to help you manage challenging behaviors/situations in your work unit and referrals to long-term counseling, when necessary
  • Wellness and Work/Life Balance – promotes healthy living for faculty and staff in the University community through programming and referrals.
  • University Police – responds to crime reports, including reports of workplace violence, stalking, sexual assault and hate crimes.
  • Accessibility Resources - coordinates services and accommodations to ensure the accessibility and usability of all UB programs, services, and activities by people with disabilities.  Provides assistance and advice regarding student requests for accommodation.
  • United University Professions - UUP is the union representing academic and professional employees of the State University of New York.
