Lactation Rooms

UB has clean, private and comfortable space for nursing mothers.  If the rooms that are listed below are not convenient, The Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) will also work with students, employees and members of the UB community to find appropriate space.

North Campus

Baldy 565.  This room is secured by a keypad lock.  It has two chairs, a table and window blinds that can close for privacy.

Capen 565A.  This room can be accessed through the women's restroom on the fifth floor of Capen Hall (across from the Martin Room).  The room has two chairs and a table, and is separated from the restroom with a closed door that can be locked for privacy.  

Capen 354.  This room is can be accessed through the Silverman Library in Capen Hall during library hours. The room has a table and one chair, and is secured by a keypad lock. It is located adjacent to rest rooms. 

Cooke 128.  This room has a chair and table, and is secured by a keypad lock.

Natural Sciences Complex (NSC) 803.  This room has two chairs and a small table, and is secured by a keypad lock.

Student Union (SU) 325.  This room has a chair, table and movable work desk.  The room is accessed by a swipe card and is secured by a privacy lock.

South and Downtown Campuses

UB is currently identifying space for assigned lactation rooms.  Please contact EDI so that we can arrange convenient, private and comfortable lactation space for you.

Using the Rooms

Capen 565A is available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Baldy 565, Capen 354, Cooke 128 and NSC 803 can be reserved through the Office of Wellness and Work/Life Balance by requesting access on the applicable web form:

Student Union (SU) 325 can be reserved by requesting access at the Office of Campus Life in SU 150.
