The Certified Nurse Assistant Training Program is designed to update the non-health related students in the competencies required to provide direct patient care within a long-term care facility. The program will provide various skills related to providing care to the elderly, physically incapacitated, as well as patients who are in the process of recovery.
The Certified Nurse Assistant Recertification Training Program is designed to update the credential of healthcare professionals. The program will provide healthcare professionals with the skills necessary to sit for the certification examination.
The Central Sterilization Technician program is designed to provide classroom instruction to a non-experienced student in the competencies required to obtain employment as a Certified Central Sterilization Technician. The program will address various topics related to the cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of patient equipment.
The Central Sterilization Technician Recertification Training Program is designed to update the credential of healthcare professionals. The program will provide employed healthcare professionals with the skills necessary to meet the New York state law requiring certification. The Central Sterilization program will address various topics related to the cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of patient equipment. The program will assist the students to understand the basic hard skills necessary to provide a safe product for patient use.
Some of the fastest growing healthcare positions are in the area of medical billing and coding. UBEOC’s Medical Billing & Coding Specialist program is an intermediate level course in anatomy, terminology, HCPCS (Health Care Common Procedural Coding System), and insurance processing utilizing industry-standard billing software. Upon successful completion, students receive a Certificate of Completion from the State University of New York.
Dental Assistants assist the dentist in providing patient care. They expose radiographs, set up and break down operatory, pass instruments to the dentist. With New York State License, there are many more responsibilities and opportunities for a dental assistant such as removing sutures, taking impressions, selecting and profiting provisional crowns and orthodontic brackets, placing amalgam, and composite restorations.
The Patient Service Technician Specialist Program provides a quality education to the unemployed and underemployed student with a focus on specimen collection within a laboratory environment. The program competencies will consist of: specimen receiving, processing, labeling, distribution, data entry, patient verification, insurance billing, and patient vital sign (pulse, blood pressure, and respiration) and phlebotomy training.
The Registered Medical Assistant program encompasses both the administrative and clinical competencies required for National Certification by the American Medical Technologists. The program offers flexible instructional opportunities including online training and explores administrative skills, electronic health records, medical billing, basic patient care, vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting the physician during an examination. After successfully completing the program and 160 hours of administrative/clinical experience within a clinical setting, the student will be qualified to take the Registered Medical Assistant Exam.
