Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Search Update
April 3, 2006
Dear Colleagues,
The search committee for the dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences is pleased to announce that selected candidates for the position have accepted the committee's invitation to visit the campus to meet with faculty, staff, students, members of the university’s senior leadership team, and selected community partners and individuals. As mentioned in previous communications, these candidates were selected from a large pool of excellent applicants. The on-campus visits will provide for expanded participation and input in the search process, and will allow the candidates to gain an enhanced understanding of the exciting opportunity available in the dean’s position.
The first two of these candidates will visit on April 4 and 5 and on April 12 and 13. We are moving quickly with this search in order to accomplish as much as possible prior to the end of the academic year. The participation and input of a large number and wide variety of campus and community constituents is essential to the successful outcome of this search, so I urge interested individuals to participate to the fullest extent possible in these on-campus meetings.
The open forum for the first candidate will be held from 9:45 – 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5 in 567 Capen Hall. All interested members of the faculty, staff, and student body are invited to attend. More information about the first two on-campus candidates is available at this link. I will keep you apprised of arrangements for any other candidates as information becomes available.
The search committee welcomes your comments and input to the search email address, engineering-dean@vpsa.buffalo.edu. Again, thank you for your interest and support of this very important process.
Sincerely,
Alexander Cartwright, Ph.D.
Professor of Electrical Engineering
