UB is proud to be partnering with National Grid and ChargePoint to offer electric vehicle owners three new locations to charge their vehicles. To better serve those with electric vehicles, we are collecting data on the types of vehicles that will be using the stations.
There are several ways to use the charging stations at no cost to you:
· If you already have a ChargePoint card, use it here!
· If you do not have a Chargepoint card, you can:
o Call the 1-800 number on the station. The customer service representative will open the station for you and then will offer to send you a free ChargePoint card in the mail. Once you receive the ChargePoint card, you can then register it and it will be ready to use!
o Visit www.chargepoint.com and order a card. One will be sent to you.
o Visit the Fronczak parking booth between 7am and 3pm to pickup a free ChargePoint Card.
o Download the ChargePoint app and activate the app when at a charger.
As a signatory of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), the University at Buffalo is committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2030.
Our Climate Action Plan recommends a number of strategies for reducing our institutional carbon footpring over time. Addressing the impact of our transportation system is a key component of the plan, and these electric charging stations will help us reach our climate neutrality goal. Switching some of our nation’s gas powered vehicle fleet to electric and natural gas will ultimately allow us to be more energy independent.
