Media Coverage

News media covering the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to the University at Buffalo on Sept. 18-20 will require credentials that will be distributed by the university's Office of News Services and Periodicals.

News media are invited to cover the following events in which the Dalai Lama will participate:

  • Interfaith service with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in Alumni Arena on UB's North Campus in Amherst

  • Public address by the Dalai Lama at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, in UB Stadium also on the North Campus. The Dalai Lama's address on Sept. 19, which will open UB's 2006-07 Distinguished Speakers Series, will be part of a program of music and performance that will begin at 1 p.m. Prior to speaking, the Dalai Lama will be awarded a State University of New York honorary doctorate in humane letters.

  • “Law, Buddhism and Social Change: A Conversation with the Dalai Lama,” at which the Dalai Lama and a group of scholars will discuss Buddhist perspectives on law and society. Wednesday, Sept. 20, at O'Brian Hall, on the North Campus, presented by the UB Law School.

Media Interviews

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will not be doing media interviews during his visit.
