Student Research in Addiction Sciences Open House 2019

April 23, 1-4 p.m.

The Clinical and Research Institute on Addictions (CRIA) held its fourth annual Student Research in Addiction Sciences Open House to showcase the broad range of addictions-related research taking place at UB.

Undergraduate and graduate students presented posters about their research activities in the areas of substance use, abuse and addiction sciences. In past years, posters have addressed a wide range of addictive substances, including opioids, alcohol, cocaine, tobacco and prescription drugs, and featured topics such as prenatal cocaine exposure and child behavior problems; bullying and later alcohol use; trauma-informed care; alcohol abstinence and treatment outcomes; and long-term neurological effects of Ritalin use.

The Open House was intended to benefit:

  • students who wish to find research opportunities in addiction sciences
  • faculty who are seeking students interested in participating in addiction research
  • everyone who would like to learn more about substance use disorders and addiction
