The University at Buffalo is proud to offer a chapter of Chi Alpha Epsilon (XAE), an honor society for students in academic development programs. XAE has been endorsed by the National Association for Developmental Education, and it is recognized nationwide for its role in acknowledging the continuing success of students in academic development programs and recognizing those students as role models for others.
On April 26, 2012, the Educational Opportunity Program, Student Support Services, the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program and the Collegiate Science Technology Entry Program proudly inducted the first nine members into the Chi Alpha Epsilon chapter at the University at Buffalo.
The Zeta Epsilon chapter at UB supports the purpose of Chi Alpha Epsilon, which is to “promote continued high standards, foster increased communication among its members, and honor the academic excellence of those students admitted to college via developmental program pathways.”
Our induction ceremony is held every spring; in the fall semester we honor our inductees’ academic achievements at our annual EOP Honors Convocation and Award Ceremony. The Zeta Epsilon chapter strongly encourages highly motivated students with a commitment to academic excellence to consider joining our society.
