Rita C. Gless

Rita C. Gless, a longtime employee in the offices of Student Affairs and Veterans Affairs, died April 10 in the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Cheektowaga. She was 90.

Born Rita Strauss in Buffalo, Gless graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1942 and after graduation went to work at Curtiss-Wright during World War II.

She married Robert Gless in 1946.

She worked at UB from the 1960s through the 1980s as a clerk in the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Veterans Affairs.

She belonged and held offices in several clubs and organizations, including the Lioness Club of Cheektowaga, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Francis J. Donovan Post and the Cheektowaga Seniors.
