What does sustainability mean to you?

Personally, sustainability means being able to continuously maintain a process without an impact.

What are you doing to help UB become more sustainable?

I am working on research for a permaculture garden here on campus, which would help alleviate some of the impact of obtaining fresh food.

How do you involve UB’s faculty or staff in your sustainability work?

Currently I am doing this research with the help of the staff of the Office of Sustainability.

How has sustainability impacted your academic pursuits?

I am studying the many ways to incorporate sustainability and to lessen ones impact on the world. The technology involved is one of the things that is the most fascinating to me.

What is the one thing you would like people to know that you do in your personal life to further sustainability?

One thing I personally do to further sustainability is that I never throw anything electronic away, it always gets recycled in the proper way.

How could UB improve its sustainability efforts?

I think UB could improve sustainability by incorporating a garden on campus and also by finding a way to make parking on campus more user friendly, without having so many people circle so many lots daily. Also, increasing the recycling program with support for things like ink cartridges, batteries, and broken cell phones which are staples of being a college student.
