I conduct research in Interpersonal Communication. I have
research interests in conflict, social networks, and the
mathematical modeling of communicative behavior. My primary
research deals with interpersonal conflict in general, and
bargaining and negotiation in particular. My studies of the
bargaining process have appeared in such journals as Behavioral
Science, Communication Research, and Communication Yearbook. More
recently, I have been studying the dynamics of an infinite-choice,
continuous-time Prisoners Dilemma. I teach courses on conflict,
social interaction, interpersonal communication, quantitative
methods, and judgment and decision making.
