Summer Learning Opportunities

Here comes the sun, and along with it an illuminating array of camps, clinics, classes, and cultural events for all ages. Everything under the sun for all interests. Stretch out and stretch your mind on campus and in the community this summer.

• ADHD Treatment Programs
  This comprehensive treatment program addresses the behavioral, emotional, and learning problems associated with ADHD of children entering grades 1-6. STP consists of a set of evidence-based treatments incorporated into an 8-week therapeutic summer day camp setting. Group and tailored individual treatment plans are implemented by trained paraprofessionals under the supervision of experienced senior staff members.
• Athletics Camps and Clinics
  Athletic summer camps offered in baseball, basketball, football, soccer, diving, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball and wrestling.
• CADS Summer Program
• Center for Educational Collaboration
• Center for Literacy and Reading Instruction
• Center for the Arts (CFA)
  Hosts performing and visual arts events for the university, Western New York and beyond; educational and cultural opportunities for the community.
• Center for the Arts Summer Program
  The Center offers two summer programs in the theatrical arts.  Both programs are geared to introduce the participants to theater in a fun and professional environment.  The Center is equipped with several professional performance spaces, state-of-the-art theatrical equipment and fully functioning schene and costume shops.  Workshops are taught by professional staff, faculty and area professionals.
• Child Care Center
  The UBCCC Summer Camp offers children ages 5-9 hands-on activities, field trips, swimming and other activities on a full or part-time basis. The camp is open to children who are not family of UB staff and students as well.
• City Voices, City Visions: Buffalo Education Partnership for Digital Arts and Communication Technologies
• Engineering Student Co-op and Internship Programs
  Work experience for UB Engineering undergraduate students.
• Eric Pitman Annual Summer Workshop in Computational Science
  Named after Science Olympiad participant Eric Pitman, the workshop strives to introduce local high-school students to the application of computer modeling and simulation, in order to solve important problems in science and engineering. The two-week summer workshop in computational science is held at the BNMC Center of Excellence.
• Excelsior Scholars Program Summer Camp
  This mathematics and science summer camp for high-achieving eighth graders in the Buffalo Public Schools is open to students who have completed seventh grade and who maintained a grade point average of 90 or above in mathematics and science in grades 5, 6 and 7, and scored well in state mathematics and science assessment exams.
• Mini Medical School
  The mini-medical school is set up just like real medical schools, with each lecture corresponding to an entire medical school course. Participants will become immersed in medical science and do it in the company of some of the leading physicians and researchers in Buffalo.
• Physics and Art Summer Institute
  Participants at the Physics & Arts Summer Institute learn about 21st Century Physics, participate on a team project and build a permanent piece for the Physics & Arts exhibition. High-school students with interest in Physics and Arts are welcome to apply.

  The UB This Summer Lecture Series features enriching and stimulating presentations on a variety of topics from American democracy, campaigns and elections, global warming, public sanitation, emergency preparedness, and more.
