Academic Partners

The CBLS is a hub for life sciences innovation and technology-based economic development. Leveraging our resources, we drive scientific discovery, facilitate collaboration among academia, industry and the public sector. We help companies get the funding they need to thrive, scientists gain access to world-class facilities and create employment and investment opportunities that improve human health.       

UB CAT supports university-industry collaboration in research, education and technology transfer. UB CAT is located within the CBLS. 

UB’s Office of Economic Development (OED)

The OED is an agent for growth and enterprise in our community, helping UB achieve its full impact as a major economic engine by fostering a relationship between the university’s research at CBLS, and its applied commercial development. The OED acts as a partner for business leaders and entrepreneurs to build innovation in our region. 

The CCR is a leading academic supercomputing facility, providing UB and the CBLS with high-performance computing, visualization resources and educational outreach. In addition, the CCR also fosters economic development and job creation within WNY by providing industry and private companies with access to advanced computing resources. 

UB's Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach [STOR]

The UB Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach (STOR) facilitates innovation. It helps researchers turn discoveries and inventions into products and services that benefit our local and global communities. STOR also fosters university-industry partnerships that boost business.

The South Campus Instrument Center (SCIC) is a full-service facility that specializes in surface imaging and spectroscopy for a wide range of materials and products, as well as expertise in product quality assurance testing, failure analysis, and forensic evaluations.

The School of Engineering & Applied Sciences provides an infrastructure of expertise and facilities that can support professional engineering and education, advanced degree programs and research in the fields of applied science and technology.

Community Partners

Invest Buffalo Niagara is an organization of public and private entities that acts as a business gateway for companies entering the Buffalo Niagara region.

The CBLS is located on this growing campus, which includes other organizations dedicated to the cultivation of a hub for world-class clinical care, research, education and entrepreneurship in downtown Buffalo.
