The CMI connects UB and our Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus partners’ vast expertise in biosensors, drug delivery, bioimaging, batteries, and surface engineering technologies  to create and deploy novel medical devices and packaging, implantable cardio, endovascular, prosthetic and orthopedic devices  and new imaging approaches that will ultimately result in cheaper, faster and more efficient patient care while facilitating economic development.

The Center for Bioinformatics and Life Sciences (CBLS), a New York State Center of Excellence with over ten years of successful economic impact, closely aligns with the CMI in funding and exploring rich opportunities for collaboration on applied research and technology transfer to address the medical industry’s needs.

Through the CMI, New York State medical device and systems integrators can also benefit from the Center for Advanced Biomedical and Bioengineering Technology’s (UB CAT) resources and annual funding program for tackling challenging technology development projects.
