The course covers the fundamental principles governing electronic transport and optical properties of materials currently used and under exploration in the semiconducting industry. The subjects covered include band structure of materials, carrier scattering and Boltzmann Transport Equation, p-n junctions and diodes, MOSFET, contact resistance in diffusive and ballistic limits, phonon transport. |
