  Course Description
College access and choice in the higher education literature represents the intersection of state policy, institutional practice, and student opportunity. The course examines the factors influencing both access and choice and the approaches intended to remove barriers and extend opportunity to under-represented groups. This course provides an elective experience for students to explore the role of state policy and institutional practice across PK-16 education. This course will be particularly useful to future admissions and financial aid professionals in higher education, school counselors and education administrators in high schools, and students interested in the sociology of inequality as it pertains to educational opportunity.
