Ben joined the Center for Computational Research in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Eastern Kentucky University.
Mr. Plessinger is a Senior Scientific Programmer at CCR where he primarily focuses on the XDMoD project, a 5-year NSF Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Award. His work involves both the development of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) as well as server-side business logic and data processing. He has extensive industry experience in multiple software development paradigms including, but not limited to, Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), and Agile software development using SCRUM.
While in private sector at companies like IBM, HP and Synacor, Mr. Plessinger took responsibility for all components of the products that he worked on. This included not only the product code itself, but also knowledge of the operating systems such as AIX, Linux/Unix, OS X, and Microsoft as well as critical infrastructure components such as MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL, Mongo, Apache, and nGinx. Doing so helped to ensure the stability and performance of the applications that he worked on.
