Mathematics Placement Exam for MTH 121, 131, 141

From Spring 2018 through Summer 2021, the University at Buffalo required an ALEKS PPL Assessment to determine readiness of students wishing to enroll in our first semester calculus courses, MTH 121, 131, 141.  Starting Fall 2021, a new Mathematics Placement Exam (MPE) will be used, affecting registration for Spring 2022 sections of MTH 121, 131, 141).

Continuing students who wish to take MTH 121, 131, 141 in Spring 2022 and beyond will provisionally be able to register for these courses.  However, each student will need to obtain a passing score in the new MPE prior to the start of the new semester to avoid being dropped from the course.

During the Fall 2021 semester, students will be able to take the MPE during any of the following dates:

- Thu 11/4/2021, 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Cooke 121,
- Thu 11/11/2021, 7:00 – 8:30 PM, Knox 109,
