Career Peer Advisor Program

What is the Career Peer Advisor Program?

A year-long 3-credit internship experience for undergraduates in the Career Services office.

This program is perfect for students interested in careers in higher education, counseling, teaching, and communication, but if you are just looking to get involved, develop public speaking skills, and help your fellow students, then this might be perfect for you, too! 

What will you do?

  • Work individually with students in our Career Resource Library.
  • Provide resume and cover letter critiques, job/internship search assistance, and information on major and career exploration.
  • Give presentations to a variety of organizations around campus.
  • Participate in career events, workshops, and job fairs.
  • Reach out to students regarding office events and programs.

What will you gain?

  • 3-credit internship during the spring semester AND the potential for a paid position during the fall semester.
  • Resume writing skills.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Development of your personal career plan.
  • Individualized career mentoring and coaching from our career counselors.
  • Personal and professional confidence.

Are you eligible?

  • Able to dedicate a full academic year to the program.
  • Undergraduate students of all majors and backgrounds are welcome to apply.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to work closely with others.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, but not necessary!
