The Space Management and Facilities Planning Committee is formed to provide a means to link our institutional mission and programmatic priorities to the physical development of our campus. The Committee will advise the President and Provost on the following matters that define the strategic role and importance of our facilities development for the achievement of both short and long range university goals. The Committee will be concerned with the development and implementation of plans that build new facilities and repair and transform existing facilities:
- Capital improvement program priorities
- Campus space plan - allocations/reallocations of space
- Advice on major facilities initiatives
- Campus aesthetics
- Building siting
- Building design standards
- Landscaping plans
- Parking improvements
- Acquisition and off campus leases of real property
- Coordinating a capital master plan development effort
- Advice on infrastructure capacity and infrastructure development
- Advice on critical maintenance priorities and plans
- Land use development and planning
- Housing development
The Committee will organize a retreat to organize the approach it will take to address the challenges we face in our facilities development effort.
