Academic & Full-Year Application

At UB, we make it as easy as possible to apply for official on-campus housing. You are guaranteed housing as long as you follow the application process and submit your housing deposit (and, for new and transfer students, your tuition deposit) by the deadline.

New to UB?

Please view the Before You Apply page in order to understand the full housing application process.

Please note that most housing agreements are for the academic year, while some apartments are available for full-year housing.

Fall Semester – New and Transfer Students

Step 1: Submit your $300 housing deposit and $150 tuition deposit during the deposit window

Fall housing for new and incoming students is assigned based on the date you submit your tuition and housing deposits. If you make the deposits separately, the later deposit date will be used. If you apply after the deposit window has closed, you will be directed to apply for a spot on the waiting list.

Step 2: Explore your housing options

UB offers many different types of housing, from traditional dormitory-style rooms to on-campus apartments (some of which offer full-year housing agreements). Your eligibility to live in each of these communities depends on a number of factors, including your high school graduation date. Current UB students are given first preference to select apartments, so availability for new students is limited in these areas.

Step 3: Enter your housing preferences

Within five business days of submitting your housing and tuition deposits, you will be emailed instructions on how to enter your housing preferences online. At UB, you will have an opportunity to specify your preference for room type, location, roommate, special interest communities and accommodation requests. You may update any of your preferences until May 15.

Fall Semester – Current Students

Step 1: Submit your $300 housing deposit during the deposit window

This deposit is a pre-payment toward your upcoming housing charges. It guarantees you the opportunity to receive on-campus housing for the fall semester. If you apply after the deposit window has closed, you will be directed to apply for a spot on the waiting list.
