Experiential Learning

Ready for the Real World

How do we build upon the exceptional quality of our classroom education? At UB, we prepare students for successful careers through experiential learning opportunities, giving students the priceless ability to build and refine their skills in real-world environments. These hands-on learning experiences empower students to discover new passions, apply their knowledge and make a difference in society.

Here Is How We Go Beyond the Classroom

Learning by doing is one of the most effective, engaging ways for students to enhance their education, whether they’re planning on a career in law, healthcare, social work, the arts or nearly any discipline. In addition, experiential learning often embeds UB students within the community, further strengthening our ties while allowing students the chance to give back.

At UB, experiential learning encompasses a broad variety of experiences, including research, internships, mentorships, fellowships and workshops. Programs such as study abroad and Alternative Breaks accelerate students’ understanding of other cultures, and helps prepare them for living and working in a global society. Now, with your generosity, we will expand experiential learning initiatives throughout the university, giving our students a distinct advantage that will serve them throughout their lives.
