Always Striving to Reach Peak Performance

Men and women competing on teams that bear the Bulls name are among UB’s greatest ambassadors. They are a window into the heart of the university, a visible expression of what UB values most: ambition and tenacity, passion and integrity. Your generous support will help ensure that our 385 student-athletes receive every opportunity to perform at the highest levels—in the classroom, in the community and in competition.

We are seeking a $30 million investment to elevate UB Athletics.

Here Is How We Help Our Student-Athletes Succeed On and Off the Field

Winning matters, but coming out on top in a game is not enough. At UB, we’re doing everything we can to make sure our student-athletes succeed in their chosen sports and in their chosen areas of study, including:

  • Upping our game with strength and conditioning programs
  • Launching a leading-edge sports nutrition initiative
  • Expanding mental health services as a safety net for student-athletes
  • Broadening advising and tutoring services for continued high performance

Here Is How We Motivate Our Coaches to Lead, Teach and Inspire

We entrust our coaches to prepare every one of our student-athletes to succeed—on the playing field, in the classroom and long after they graduate. With your support, we will anchor those expectations with a huge vote of confidence as we establish endowments to support head-coaching positions. The benefits are many, from recruiting and retaining talented coaches, to providing continuity for student-athletes. This is our moment to increase UB’s national visibility, instill pride and passion, and create tomorrow’s stories of success.

Here Is How We Gain the Winning Edge

The quality of our venues and facilities sends a powerful message to student-athletes, coaches, the UB community, our fans and future recruits. Now, we’re ready to leap forward, starting with a new on-campus fieldhouse, featuring a 92,000-square-foot indoor practice space, including a full-size football field. Through private philanthropy, other facility upgrades will include:

  • A strength and conditioning center
  • A new indoor tennis facility
  • Significant improvements to UB Stadium
  • Enhancements to Alumni Arena and the Gicewicz Club at UB Stadium
The Power of Your Investment

As a university unmistakably on the rise, UB deserves even greater athletics. Our sports teams, at their best, shine a light on all that is good about the University at Buffalo. We invite you to step up for Bulls Nation. To be part of our team. And to give generously. This is our moment to strengthen our university and the city that is our home—and the home of our fans. This is our time to shape the future of UB Athletics, proudly and boldly. Horns Up!

  • Danielle Meyer on Nutrition and Cancer
    3/26/24
Food has become an increasingly fraught subject in America. Is paleo good for you? Keto? Should everyone be intermittent fasting? Meanwhile, an increasing number of Americans under 50 are being diagnosed with cancer, particularly colon cancer. Is our diet the problem? In this episode of Driven to Discover, Dave Hill talks to public health researcher Danielle Meyer, a board-certified specialist in oncology nutrition and director of the undergraduate program in nutrition at the University at Buffalo, about these issues and more. A refreshingly honest and nonjudgmental spokesperson for food in all its varieties, Meyer dispels common myths, exonerates the downtrodden potato and eliminates grocery cart guilt for good.
