The AIDS Memorial Quilt Display
SUNY Buffalo Law School's Domestic Violence Task Force (DVTF) is supporting the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS and the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library as they present the display of two panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt. The Quilt is a vivid reminder that HIV/AIDS can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any age. The Domestic Violence Task Force is promoting the special events at the library because we are aware of the link between intimate partner violence and one's risk for HIV/AIDS. On Sunday, December 1, there will be an Opening Ceremony and press conference, followed by a Candle Lighting Ceremony from 2pm-3pm. On Monday, December 2, a town hall meeting will take place from 6pm-8pm on The State of Sexual Health and Buffalo's Youth. Lastly, on Wednesday, December 4th, educational and community resources will be available, along with free/confidential HIV testing for the public.
