Live streaming conference event
TEDx Buffalo
You are invited to the second annual TEDx Buffalo live streaming event on Tuesday, October 9th, 2012 in 107 Capen Hall. (University Honors College, inside the Undergraduate Library.) TED is a global conference and successful web video series, where speakers from lots of different professions and passions have 18 minutes each to promote Ideas Worth Spreading. TEDx events are TED-licensed, independent, generally smaller-scale versions of TED conferences, but with the same basic purpose and ground rules. This year’s speakers include: Chris Smith, Oracle engineer and blogger who started Cash Mobs to convert social momentum into local business. Matthew Walter, Trader of video games and believer in giving back lots of energy to your town. Adrienne Bermingham, Assistant for Jane Goodall Institute’s Youth Leadership Program, focused on creating working community maps. Alan Friedman, Maker of hand-printed greeting cards by day, world-famous shooter of solar systems by night. Geoff “DeafGeoff” Herbert, Syracuse-based designer, web producer, and DJ who just happens to be deaf. Joy Kuebler, Landscape architect focused on building outdoor spaces for all kinds of learning. And more! We will stream the event live from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm, so you may stop in at any time during the day to see a single speaker, or perhaps stay for more. More information on TEDx Buffalo, including a full schedule of the speakers, is available at http://www.tedxbuffalo.com/
