China Town Hall, Local Connections, National Reflections will feature a live webcast and Q&A with former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, broadcast to more than 60 venues nationwide. Secretary Albright's discussion and responses to questions will be moderated by Stephen Orlins, president of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, which is the national organizer of China Town Hall. Following Secretary Albright’s webcast, Terry Lautz, PhD, former Vice President of the Henry Luce Foundation, will speak to the Buffalo audience on “China’s Identity and Projection of Its Image and Influence.” Following his presentation, Dr. Lautz will answer questions and lead discussion about China’s role in the world and U.S.-China relations. The event begins at 6:30 with a reception sponsored by UB’s Confucius Institute. The webcast with Secretary Albright begins promptly at 7:00, and Dr. Lautz will speak at 7:45. The event is cosponsored by the UB Confucius Institute, Asian Studies Program, and International Institute of Buffalo.
