Voice input/dictation systems have been around for a long time, but they used to be cumbersome and inaccurate. This is no longer true. Come and see a demonstration of Dragon NaturallySpeaking software. The demonstration will cover numerous ways that voice dictation can be used in an academic setting. Use voice dictation for writing papers, creating transcripts, navigation of web pages, spreadsheet data input, and controlling basic computer operations. Are you worried about carpal tunnel syndrome? Or perhaps you just want your hands free. Come to this session hosted by Ben Wagner, Sciences Librarian, who uses Dragon software in his everyday interactions with a computer to see for yourself how far this technology has advanced.
