Inpatient Rehab or Outpatient Services? Recent Findings from Matching Clients to Alcoholism Treatment Setting
Dr. Robert G. Rychtarik is a clinical psychologist and senior research scientist at the University at Buffalo Research Institute on Addictions (RIA). He received his PhD from the University of Montana in 1979. Prior to his arrival at RIA in 1987, he was on the faculty of the University of Mississippi and Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Jackson, MS, where he directed the Alcoholism Treatment Center. A fellow in the American Psychological Association, Dr. Rychtarik’s research focuses on treatment outcome research for addictive disorders, including research on the relative efficacy of different treatment settings, and the development and evaluation of interventions for those living with an addicted family member. He is the recipient of several NIH-funded grants in these areas.
