Buffalo Poverty Research Workshop V
The fifth Buffalo Poverty Research Workshop offers everyone concerned with Buffalo’s poverty the chance to hear about new and ongoing research, promising strategies, and opportunities for collaboration. The workshop is designed for local scholars, social service agencies, advocates, and government leaders and staff, among others.
Introduction on "Poverty: Current Trends" with Dale Zuchlewski, Homeless Alliance of WNY. Session 1: Worker Equity with (1) Sam Magavern, Partnership for the Public Good on "Temporary and Precarious Work in Buffalo" (2) Dr. Erin Hatton, UB Sociology on "Working for 'Extras,' Working for 'Nothing'". Session 2: Suburbanization of Poverty with Dr. Corrie Stone-Johnson, UB Educational Leadership and Policy, Graduate School of Education. Session 3: Poverty and Neighborhood. Speaker forthcoming.
