Mark Wood is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Rhode Island (URI) and an Adjunct Professor of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Brown University. He received his B.A. in Psychology from Arizona State University, and his M.A., and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Brown University Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies. He has conducted research on college student drinking for the past 22 years, and has authored or co-authored more than fifty peer-reviewed studies and edited chapters on the etiology of alcohol use and misuse and preventive interventions to reduce alcohol misuse and consequences. His work has been supported by the Alcoholic Beverage Medical Research Foundation and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Research Society on Alcoholism and Rhode Island MADD.
